Instructional Technology and Design Office

Who We Are:

The Instructional Technology and Design Office (ITD) is here to help bridge the gap between the learner and technology in the classroom setting. The guiding ITD philosophy is that the technology you use should be as simple and stable as possible so that you can focus on your studies. While we can help you learn more and go further with your interest in computing, our primary goal is to elminate any barrier that technology may present.

What We Do:

The Instructional Technology and Design Office primarily provides training and support for course-related activities; in addition, we provide many other services for the GSLIS community:

Course management support

Our office supports Moodle, the new course management system implemented in GSLIS in 2007.  In addition to Moodle, a variety of other technologies are available for teaching at GSLIS.  For more information, please view our course technologies page.

Resources for instructors

Our office works with instructors to set up course content and leverage new (and old) technologies for better and more effective teaching.  For more information, please view our instructor guide.

Workshops, tutorials, and other resources for students

Our office provides training, both in person and online, on GSLIS-supported technologies such as Moodle.  We also offer training and documentation on other technologies that you may need for your coursework or in your professional life post-GSLIS.  For more information, please view our workshop schedule or our tutorials page.  If you are a new GSLIS student, please view our resources for new students.

Streaming media and media conversions

In addition to live audio for LEEP classes, our office can also help with converting your slides to web-accessible HTML, creating streaming media for student group meetings, and more!
